Jean Huttard – Frach

« Frach » or  « l’effrontée » in Alsatian is a cuvée that values an age-old tradition and responds to current environmental, ecological and ethical issues. A cuvée de macération, its personality is punk, cosmopolitan, whole and natural.
Its colour is orange, almost ochre. A dry, fruity and very spicy wine. The nose is floral with rosehip flowers and orange zest. The palate follows the framework of the nose with a greedy touch. The finish develops beautiful bitters and reveals spicy notes.

The grapes are hand-cut and brought whole to the cellar. The Pinot Gris grapes are macerated in whole bunches, while the Sylvaners and Gewurztraminers are 100% destemmed before maceration. The maceration is carried out on the skins and lasts 21 days with daily pumping over. Pressing lasts 4 hours; after gravity settling, malolactic fermentation begins naturally. This is followed by 4 months of maturation on fine lees. Bottling in May 2022.
